Synopsis:

Rocco works as a singer in a bar which attracts a young crowd. He finds himself in trouble when his wife, sick to death of his artistic antics, finally throws him out of the house. Rocco knocks on a few doors for hospitality until he finally runs into Ugo, a friend from the past who is now the conductor of a prestigious orchestra. They are very different. Ugo, a divorcé, is a serious kind of guy who is used to a very regular type of life-style. He lives in a beautiful house with his two children, Davide and Tina. Ugo’s kids absolutely adore Rocco who they consider to be a lot trendier than their father, but Rocco and Ugo continually argue about the way the teenagers should be brought up. The plot thickens when Rocco brings Ivan, a seven year old boy of Slav origin home with him. Ivan is being exploited by two of his countrymen so Rocco decides to help him escape them. To make matters worse, the child’s tormentors in an attempt to get Ivan back, kidnap Ugo’s children too. When this drama is finally solved and the children are safely back with their “fathers”, Rocco decides to leave his new found family after more arguments with Ugo. The atmosphere at Ugo’s house is depressing, his children are unbearable. They all miss Rocco terribly. However, all is resolved when the bell rings and Ugo opens the door to find Rocco has returned in search of somewhere to stay. Needless to say, Ugo disguises his delight and welcomes him home.
