Synopsis:

When Jesus returns to his native village after a seven year absence, the young boy, Mary and Joseph have to start all over again. But with the help of their relatives and friends, the little family soon resumes a normal life. Then one day Roman soldiers arrive and take all the men away as prisoners for forced labour. Jesus has to grow up without his father near him and only a deeply grieving mother. But he is only a young boy and so he copes with the hardships and problems of others, yet still manages to have some boyish adventures. Some of the people he meets at this time are destined to have an influence on his life in the future, and so many of his encounters trigger off “flash-forwards” and we see dramatic and moving scenes of extracts in Jesus' life as a man ... seen through the eyes of a young boy.
