Synopsis: Ex-lovers David Segre and Mara Bruni investigate the murder of an actress that has unexpected criminal ramifications and brings them back together again. An actress is killed on set and David Segre and Mara Bruni, head of the homicide department, are in change of investigation. There is a lot tension between them because their relationship broke up three years earlier, and they both still feel resentment. Their enquiries lead to a complex network of loan-sharks, drug pusher, blackmailers, and organized crime. A second murder, clearly linked to the first, sharpens the contrast between David and Mara. While David tends to see the motive as being linked to illicit trafficking and blackmail, Mara is convinced that the first murder was a crime of passion and the second was committed to prevent the guilty party from being discovered. As the plot unravels David and Mara gradually get back together again. A third crime puts the investigators off the scent, but paradoxically provides the keys to the case.
